Each year, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco brings a buzzing sense of excitement to the whole Principality. It is fair to say that, between the practices sessions, qualifying rounds and races, there is always something going on! But this legendary sporting event is about more than the race itself, as the fabulous gastronomic symphony orchestrated by the restaurants of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has helped to win much of its renown. Below, we have selected our gourmet top tips themed around six ambiances.

#1 - Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo: Gastronomy for lunch and dinner

Louis XV - Alain Ducasse à l'Hôtel de Paris, Le Grill, Café de Paris Monte-Carlo at Salle Empire, the Bar Américain… Our luxury Resort’s restaurants are the place for a delicious break from the track throughout the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco. Connoisseurs who want to keep one eye on the race will be delighted to tuck into a gastronomic meal as they gaze out over the track from the terrace of the Louis XV - Alain Ducasse at the Hôtel de Paris, the terrace of the Em Sherif restaurant will offer a generous and colorful Lebanese cuisine to live the race instantly. The terrace of the Salle Empire will once again host the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo this year while the legendary brasserie is being renovated. On the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo’s eighth floor, the Michelin-starred Le Grill offers equally outstanding and unique views over the racetrack. As for the Bar Américain, its usual opulent, jazzy ambiance takes on a slightly more frenetic beat, making it an essential place to visit for lunch, dinner or a few drinks during the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco.

#2 - A touch of luxury and elegance at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

The Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo’s restaurants brilliantly blend the event’s effervescent buzz with a more chilled-out ambiance. People come here to sample the light, fresh and gourmet menu at the Michelin-starred Pavyllon Alléno restaurant. Lunch on the restaurant’s terrace is simply a must. Its panoramic views make it a thoroughly special place to take in every moment of the race!

When you need to cool down after all the adrenalin of the race, treat yourself to some time out in the intimate surroundings of Le Limùn. This elegant and extremely charming restaurant is in the heart of the hotel’s Beaumarchais lobby. It is the place to try a gourmet coffee or lunch as you get ready to take the plunge back into the Grand Prix. Not far from the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Square Beaumarchais is a pop-up shop with a takeout snacks and drinks menu, so you can stay close to the action while you eat.

#3 - Delicious gastronomic journeys at Le Blue Bay

The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort’s two Michelin-starred restaurant invites connoisseurs to sample chef Marcel Ravin’s Mediterranean-Caribbean fusion flavorsFrom Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 May, the chef will concoct special menus with wine pairings. #4 - Very special coffees and lunches at L’Hirondelle

At the heart of the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, L’Hirondelle is a tranquil restaurant that serves healthy, tasty cuisine to its guests as they look out over Le Rocher and Monaco port. During the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco, its terrace offers spectacular views of the race’s fastest section – the Tunnel’s exit – and the chicane. At this choice location, you can choose from a special menu which is equal parts gourmet and healthy. This is the restaurant’s trademark cuisine, and it uses low-fat, tasty and ethically fished ingredients.
