New technology and ecology are not incompatible. The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is presenting an exciting demonstration and introducing the first electric supercharger in the Principality — also one of the only ones in the world.
After solar panels were installed last April, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort and Société monégasque de l’électricité et du gaz (SMEG – Monaco Power and Gas Company) are continuing their energy transition partnership with a new project to combine cutting-edge technology with sustainable development. In fact, since 9 May, the luxury hotel has been offering the Power Zone station to its customers and visitors, which includes a 160-kW supercharger for electric vehicles.
50 times faster than a traditional electric outlet!
This revolutionary device is one-of-a-kind because it can recharge in 20-30 minutes (depending on the vehicle) instead of several hours, as is currently the case. This station of the future, which is typically located near highways, is one of the first in the world to be in the middle of a city. The charger is in fact powered with green electricity, directly produced by the solar panels located on the hotel roof. And to use the Power Zone station, just go to the resort’s outdoor parking lot. The supercharger is intended for customers and is free for the time being, throughout the launch phase. You can find it on a map with the mobile application Chargemap. Timesaving and carbon-neutral, this device has everything to win over electric car drivers. In Monaco, the future is already here.
