Girls’ Day Out: Monaco’s Top Spots

Published on April 25, 2022Updated on June 19, 2023

Whether you’re planning a birthday, hen party, mother-daughter date or a getaway with your best girls, there’s no better feeling than filling your diary with all your favourite things! A little indulgence, a lot of shopping, an abundance of self-care...we all have our own idea of what makes the perfect day out, so Inspiration is here with some top tips to help make your next girls’ trip truly unforgettable.

1. Start the day right

The 4- and 5-star hotels across our resort have all sorts of ways to make your girls’ trip a memorable one. Not only are they home to luxurious rooms and suites, complete with views that will take your breath away, but they also have plenty of surprises in store to whet your appetite. Why not start as you mean to go on, with a deliciously relaxed breakfast of tea, coffee and delicious pastries at Le Limùn? The Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo’s Sunday brunch – served from October to April – is also to die for, and makes the perfect Parisian-inspired start to the day with a hearty buffet and several live cooking stations under the cupola of the hotel’s Eiffel Mezzanine. There are even more brunch options at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, where you can join us every Sunday from October to May at the Blue Bay by Marcel Ravin for our famous “Champagne Brunch Party”. Voted the “best brunch in Monaco” by L’Observateur de Monaco magazine in 2019, what better way to start the day! Alternatively, you can find the double-Michelin-starred chef’s team at Mada One all week long, serving up a snackonomy-style menu: the perfect combination of good, fast food. Not far from there, the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo – a veritable local institution for over 150 years – awaits your visit for breakfast on the terrace.

2. Pamper time

After breakfast, why not keep those easy, laid-back vibes going and explore the wellbeing activities on offer? With the Cinq Mondes spa, Monte-Carlo Beach spa and of course Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo to choose from, our range of treatments is quite simply unique. At the Monte-Carlo Beach, you can enjoy eco-friendly and ethical beauty treatments and rituals or private sessions in gorgeous surroundings. The Cinq Mondes Spa at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, meanwhile, specialises in rituals from around the world. And, with stunning views over Port Hercules and the old town, the skilled team of therapists at Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo offers an incredible menu of treatments – or, for those of you who prefer a morning swim, a dip in the spa’s heated salt water pool is a delightful way to start the day. In fact, all the pools across the resort[1] are sure to hit the spot: there’s also the iconic heated Olympic salt water pool at the Monte-Carlo Beach (open from April to October) and the indoor/outdoor pool at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Feeling relaxed to the max? Perfect – you're ready for your next activity.

From 1 May to 30 September, treat yourself to a spot of sunshine with a trip to Cocoon Bay at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. There, lounging on a white-veiled Bali bed on the shores of the lagoon, with fresh fruit and staff attending to your every need, you’ll feel on top of the world!

3. A shopping spree!

A girls’ day out without a serious shopping trip? Unthinkable! How fortunate, then, that over the past few years, Monaco has made a name for itself as a must-visit shopping destination. Proof of this lies in the Monte-Carlo Shopping Promenade, which has become the most exclusive retail complex on the French Riviera, housing some of the biggest luxury labels right in the heart of the Principality in Monaco’s Carré d’Or district. Here, you’ll find impeccable stores, staff to attend to your every need and any number of exclusive, iconic pieces. If it’s fashion you're after, you’ll be spoilt for choice with Prada, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and more… there are plenty of luxury jewellers and watchmakers to browse there too, including Piaget, Cartier and Bulgari, and yet more to explore in the Jewellers’ Courtyard at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, where you’ll find the likes of Graff, Harry Winston and Stardust. Get ready – an unbeatable afternoon of window shopping awaits!

4. Time for tea

After the highs of a fabulous shopping trip, what’s the best way to come back down to earth? Why, by enjoying a little peace and quiet with a nice cup of tea! It’s the perfect time for either reviewing the day’s acquisitions or setting the world to rights – and what’s more, there are several spots around the city that take tea time to the next level. The closest to the shops is the tantalising Mada One, where you’ll find an irresistible selection of pastries that you can either eat in or take with you to enjoy on the go while you make your final purchases. If you’re looking for a chic, more intimate space, try Le Limùn in Square Beaumarchais. Tucked away behind the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo’s magnificent lobby, it’s the perfect place to sip a hot drink and nibble on some delicious, house-made cakes and pastries. L'Orange Verte is also a serious contender for a top tea-time experience: take a seat in the bright, airy winter garden, or head out onto the terrace to enjoy the gentle caress of the Mediterranean sunshine. With a cake trolley and tea bar to enjoy into the bargain, you’re all set for a wonderful afternoon.

5. Cocktail time!

To kick off your night out in Monaco, treat yourself to a girly cocktail or two. For an electric ambiance (and electro music!), head to Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo. Under the friendly gaze of the immense Buddha statue, drink in the lounge vibes and cool music that are behind the bar’s legendary reputation, and enjoy a fun girly experience where East meets West. The electro vibes continue at the Blue Gin, where you’ll find another gorgeous cocktail menu – perfect for toasting love, friendship, and a wonderful day out! In July and August, Mada One makes a great place to enjoy cocktails a matter of metres from Place du Casino, or head to La Rascasse to let your hair down in chilled, welcoming surroundings: the ideal start to a girls’ night out. Last but not least, there’s Le Bar Américain, where you’ll get to sample a short but sweet menu of audacious cocktails with a piano player or live band setting the tone.

6. Let's dance

If you're keen to keep your girls’ day out going as long as you can, head to one of the nightclubs that are the heart and soul of Monaco’s nightlife. At the Blue Gin, electro music reigns supreme in simply stunning surroundings: you’ll soon see exactly why it’s known as the “Waterfront of Monaco”. As for COYA Monte-Carlo, the atmosphere is a perfect match for the delicious menu: captivating, eclectic, and exciting. Last but not least, we couldn’t mention Monegasque nightlife without a nod to Jimmy'z Monte-Carlo. The most elite of Monaco’s clubs brings party-goers a line-up of acts that are unrivalled anywhere else. Some of the best DJs on the scene right now have graced the decks, keeping the party going... All. Night. Long.
